Dear  LEAP Community:

 The LEAP/21st Century Community Learning Center Afterschool Program appreciates your support and participation at our Celebrate Afterschool! Outdoors in the Garden State community event, on Tuesday, May 12th .    The event was a great success! It brought together our community, from business and civic leaders to educators, to learn about the benefits of afterschool programming and celebrate the connections between children and the outdoors. We had both fun and educational activities for all ages.  We gathered over 100 signatures on a petition in support of afterschool education. The event was covered by Action News (ABC-TV) and the Courier Post.

LEAP/21st Century Community Learning Center has been providing after school and summer programs since October 2007.  It is clear that our students are benefitting from receiving homework and tutorial assistance; learning to play drums, guitar, violin and cello; learning to dance and create arts & crafts projects, learning about nutrition, exercise, and healthy living in a safe place to socialize with their friends.

Celebrate Afterschool! is part of a statewide campaign to improve and expand afterschool in New Jersey. Our goal is to build support for high quality, affordable afterschool programs.  Your support affirmed the importance of afterschool in the city of Camden.   We look forward to your participation and support throughout the year.
