LEAP ACADEMY STEM Campus
Creating a Skilled 21st-century Workforce
The LEAP Academy STEM High School, established in 2010, offers a specialized academic curriculum that focuses on science, technology,
engineering and math in order to improve the mastery of math and science
for Latino and African-American students in ninth through twelfth grades.
STEM High School uses state-of-the-art practices and project-based learning to
develop LEAP students' skills in science and technology, the fastest growing
career fields in the global 21st-century economy.
Courses include advanced physics, chemistry, computer programming and
engineering. These rigorous classes challenge students to excel and to graduate
with the specialization required to attend the nation's most competitive
universities for engineering and technology.
Apply to STEM
Students interested in the LEAP STEM program must first be admitted to the school during the annual enrollment lottery process. Once admitted, 60 students each year will enter the ninth-grade program and continue through 12th-grade graduation.
Who is Eligible?
Current eight grade students from Camden City who will be entering ninth grade in September.
All students must first be accepted to enroll at LEAP Academy.
Those students accepted will then have the opportunity to apply for the S.T.E.M. program
