LEAP Academy High School’s World Language Club (WLC) and Class of 2010 held its second annual Festival of Nations on June 18th, featuring food and music from a variety of countries.
Seniors and members of the WLC were posted at one of 10 different national tables serving traditional foods while others coordinated the cash register, beverages, music, and even played the guitar. The LEAP High School courtyard was decorated in streamers and flags from over a dozen countries like Spain, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, and Turkey.
The Festival was coordinated by WLC advisors Ana Garcia and Siomara Perez and offered an extensive international menu, including arroz gandules from the Dominican Republic, Turkish chicken kebap with vegetables, tacos from Mexico, ensalada de maccarones and pollo asados from Spain.
Parents, teachers, Board members, and administrators were among the dozens of attendees enjoying the Festival, which helped raise money to support both the World Language Club and LEAP’s Senior Class.
