Class of 2021 Graduates Kindergarten 06/25/09

Sixty LEAP Academy kindergarten students were promoted to 1st grade during their 2009 Graduation Exercise on June 25th.  Parents, grandparents, teachers, and staff members sat in LEAP Elementary school’s multipurpose room to celebrate the achievement of LEAP’s youngest students. 

Kindergartners wore the traditional red caps and gowns and were presented with their graduation diplomas by LEAP founder and Board of Trustees chairperson Dr. Gloria Bonilla-Santiago and LEAP Superintendent Dr. Deanna Burney.  Each of the three kindergarten classrooms sang a class song, like “It’s a Small World” and “I’m a Kindergarten Graduate.” 

Students also shared their future career goals with the audience during the “When I grow up I Want to Be...” portion of the program.  Each student walked to the microphone and answered with a number of future careers, including lawyer, doctor, police officer, and the most popular choice: teacher.
