The 21st Century Community Learning Center and LEAP Parents Council hosted their annual “Winter Wonderland” festival at LEAP on Friday, December 18th. Over 150 parents and family members attended the festival to watch their students perform music and dance routines that were learned through the afterschool program.
The program included Christmas carols, individual and orchestra string compositions, choreographed dancing, and even a martial arts demonstration by students who learned karate. Children and guests were also treated to special holiday food items donated by parents and witnessed the highlight of night when Santa Claus and his elves arrived for photographs.
The 21st Century Community Learning Center is a federally-funded afterschool program that offers students in grades 4-12 a wide range of learning opportunities and cultural experiences. The program works with numerous community partners like the Rutgers CSUCL and Center for the Arts, Symphony in C, and others to enrich the lives of LEAP Academy children and extend the impact of learning.
