Support Services
What makes LEAP Academy unique from other public charter schools is the breadth of integrated support services that our students and their families have available to them.

On-site healthcare, family counseling, college preparatory education, tutoring, and after school activities are just a few of the services LEAP provides; and all are designed to benefit the entire school.

A combination of contracted services from Rutgers University, state and federal programs, and school resources, LEAP Academy’s support services assist our faculty in their work, help to engage parents in the school, and ensure that students receive the best education and social development possible.


	Rutgers Centers of Excellence Through a partnership with Rutgers, LEAP Academy is provided with innovative support services that enhance the academic success of our students. Read more about these unique services provided by the Rutgers CSUCL

LEAP Libraries
Integral components of LEAP that help extend education beyond the classroom. Both libraries are equipped with audio-visual materials, computer stations with Internet access, and thousands of books.

Pre College Bookstore
The LEAP Bookstore offers our school community the chance to purchase academic materials and apparel, while providing student leaders with hands-on business experience.

LEAP Parents Council
The main vehicle for parental involvement at LEAP, the Parents Council recruits parents for specific volunteer work, maximizes home/school communication, and creates an integrated parent community at LEAP.

21st Century Community Learning Center
An after school program that offers unique activities to LEAP students, including tutoring and homework assistance and art, music, and sports.

Rutgers Centers of Excellence
The Centers of Excellence are contracted services from Rutgers University, administered by the CSUCL, that bolster LEAP’s holistic curricula with academic, health, and collaborative support programs in order to aid student scholarship and faculty effectiveness.

Health Center / Family Support Center
Combines a licensed medical practice and a school-based support center to provide on-site access to primary healthcare plus health counseling for students and parents.

Early Childhood Literacy Initiative (Preschool)
A comprehensive effort to strengthen early childhood education, the Rutgers/LEAP Preschool serves 90 preschoolers (age 3-4) and addresses the critical need for improved and expanded early learning experiences for children in Camden City.

Office of Pre College Programs
An education center that promotes college awareness/readiness programs and services to LEAP students, beginning in kindergarten.

Parents Academy for School Reform
A parent-centered program dedicated to making parents effective participants in their children’s educations through training and educational series.

Law Clinic
A pro-bono panel of attorneys from the Camden Bar Association and Rutgers–Camden Law School provides free, school-based legal services for Camden families.

Teacher Devel. & Performance Institute
A faculty/school leader training program that focuses on improving school performance and student achievement by creating a culture of learning at LEAP.
