LEAP Academy and Ronald McDonald House

October 20, 2017

LEAP Academy has been an agent of change serving the Camden community for over 20 years. Our dedication, committed community mentality, and resilience when it comes to catering to the needs of the community are just a few things that make this institution so amazing. The Ronald McDonald House in Camden, sharing some of the same standards in regards to being a servant to the community, seemed like the ideal establishment to collaborate with. In the fall of 2016, we made history establishing the first ever school partnership with the Ronald McDonald House of Southern NJ. Since, our Student Gov’t elected officials have been catering to the needs of the RMH and the families that are members of the house. From Baking cookies, providing over 100 brand new toys to the families during the holiday, cleaning the residence, and simply having in depth transparent conversations with the families has been nothing less than a humbling experience for our Kings and Queens as they evolve into young adults. We are transitioning into our 2nd year of working with the RMH of Southern NJ, and we are ecstatic about the opportunity spending (1) Friday a month with the community based, life-changing organization.
