Flying High with Flying Classroom!

May 20, 2019

On May 16th and 17th students and teachers were able to meet Captain Barrington Irving after weeks of anticipation and excitement. Captain Irving and Crew joined the K-3 students and staff for an exciting and motivating day of learning about STEM+ with a special focus on Aviation. The teachers were involved in challenging themselves to see STEM+ in all content areas. The curriculum and professional learning staff at the Flying Classroom has worked collaboratively with LEAP Academy Lower School to create a professional development series, for lead explorers (teachers) to engage in throughout the duration of their Flying Classroom instruction. Each topic and session is uniquely designed based on the needs of the lead explorers related to their current knowledge about STEM, project based learning, classroom management during student collaboration, science content and managing a learner centric environment.
