Coronavirus Can't Stop College Acceptances!

March 23, 2020
The LEAP Academy Class of 2020 might be completing their coursework remotely, but being under a quarantine has not stopped college acceptances from rolling in! Just recently the sixteenth member of the LEAP Class of 2020 was offer as spot in the Rutgers class of 2024! This marks the sixth consecutive LEAP graduating class to reach at least fifteen Rutgers acceptances, and signs are pointing to quite a few more members of this graduating cohort joining the incoming freshman class of Scarlet Knights! Students in the LEAP Academy Class of 2020 have garnered acceptances to all three Rutgers campuses (New Brunswick, Newark, and Camden), and many students have been granted admission into some of the most competitive and highly selective undergraduate programs in the Rutgers network. Graduating senior and dual-enrollment participant Dianne Avila was accepted to the prestigious Rutgers University-New Brunswick School of Engineering, and she will be joined in New Brunswick by Hakeem Evans, who was accepted to the School of Biological and Environmental Sciences! Not to be outdone, Shaline Mendez, a graduating senior who has completed dual-enrollment classwork in Intro to Theater and Intro to Visual Arts, has received an acceptance from the prestigious Mason Gross School of the Arts! In addition to garnering a total of sixteen acceptances to Rutgers University, the LEAP Class of 2020 has amassed more than $1.5 million in merit-based scholarships! Despite being on quarantine, the LEAP Class of 2020 continues to rack up college acceptances and scholarship dollars!
